It's a scenic place surrounded by gigantic ashoka trees. There are nine hostels for men (another one under construction) of which the four oldest hostels are identical in design and capacity, mine being one of those four. There are chandeliers and the loos and baths are English in design. I guess it's another British hangover we just have to live with.

Wow I loveeee the first picture! That's just stunning. Love the red tree :) Would be nice if you'd included a pic of the interiors with the chandeliers and stuff.
haha it's not a red tree. It's a big saron par. It uses a tree for support. Must be old I guess. Will put up some interior pictures. I think you should come down here and click some stunning pictures ;)
